Tanzania Brush Products Ltd. was founded in May, 1968 with the aim to generate
and awaken the spirit of self-help and encourage initiative in economic and
industrial fields through cooperative endeavour in accordance with the philosophy
enunciated by His Holiness Dr. Syedna Taher Seifuddin Saheb (A.Q.) 51st Dail-ul-Mutlaq
(in revered memory) and head of the Dawoodi Bohra Community and to assist
and promote industrial enterprises by providing financial and technical assistance
for economic progress.

The main object of the company is to carry on the business of manufacturers
and dealers in all kinds of brushes and all or many materials and things used
for or in connection with the manufacture of brushes. The company is currently
supplementing its manufacturing activity by going into business of selling
treated sawn timber on wholesale basis.

TBP has many different types of brushes in its assortment. Almost all these
types have a specific purpose which can often be deduced from the name of
the product. The types differ from each other in shape and filling adopted
to the use of the brush. With reference to the filling materials tropical
vegetable fibres (Palmyra and African Piassava) are most suited to clean coarse
dirt from hard surfaces with or without water; cocoa fibre and animal hair
(Chinese bristles and horse hair) to wipe fine dirt off hard surfaces to clean
and scrub with water. Synthetic filaments are suitable for scrubbing, whereas
PVC and Polypropylene can only be used at higher temperatures.

TBP is the leading producer of brooms, brushes, paint brushes and specialised
industrial brushes and related articles in Tanzania. High quality products
are manufactured on the modern machines at our plant on plot 37, block A -
Nyerere Road - Dar es Salaam.
